Baileys French Toast

This Baileys French Toast recipe elevates a breakfast classic into a decadent treat. Thick slices of Italian bread are soaked in a rich custard made with eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. It's then topped with a sweet, buttery crumble and baked until golden brown, offering a delightful combination of textures and flavors for a memorable breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

For the French Toast:

  • 6 medium eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 loaf Italian bread, sliced 1 inch
    thick

For the Crumble:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 stick butter, cubed

Directions

1.  Make the French toast: Set a grill/smoker to 350°F. Grease a 3-inch-deep 9 x 13-inch pan with PAM.

2.  In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla.

3. Soak the bread in the egg mixture and place it in the prepared pan, lining the pan with the slices at an angle. Pour the remaining egg mixture over the bread in the pan.

4. Make the crumble: In a small bowl, combine all the crumble ingredients. Spread the crumble evenly over the French toast.

5. Bake on the grill/smoker on the middle rack for 40 to 45 minutes, until golden brown.

Pro Tip

Add fruit, chocolate, whipped cream, or Nutella to make this dessert even more decadent. Also, we recommend using disposable aluminum trays for easy cleanup or to send leftovers home with a friend, if there’s any left.
